A Fourteen-Karat Basic Man's Ring

Rita supplied the diamond, a half-carat Hearts On Fire. The house supplied diamond-cut sapphires of .20 ct each, and the ring was made in 14k white gold.

The ring was a size 10¾ where the original model was a 9, so Carol carved a new wax rather than adapt the old one. Stones were placed in the wax for sizing, and the customer approved it before casting.

Each stone was gypsy set by hand, with the most basic of tools, a hammer and punch, and years of experience.
