A Ruby and Garnet Grape Cluster Pendant

Weldon drew this pendant himself and asked for it to be made smaller. Carol interpreted his drawing at the reduced scale.

Two rubies were considered. The first had good colour but too many inclusions; the second was much the superior stone and was used.

The plans called for an 18k white gold vine wrapped with a finer green gold vine, 18k yellow leaves on 18k green stems, and twenty small faceted rhodolite garnets in two clusters.

Carol and Bob delivered it by hand to Weldon and his wife, and watched her face as she received it.
